multi national gives service with a smile

This week I decided to get a new bed (orthopedic) think it will help with my back pain. Had a look round a few web sites Dreams Bensons etc, the I got a phone call from the other half who had popped into United Carpets and Beds near her home and told me about this bed, so I looked it up on the Web, law and behold if they didn't have a branch in good old Accy on Eastgate, so I give them a ring, as you do. Talked to this young lad, who, quite frankly didn't seem interested, told him which bed interested me, but then told him about a small problem, I'm disabled and that when delivered I would need the old bed taking outside and the new one put in its place. Sorry we don't take beds away, I don't want it taking away, I'll sort that just removing outside my flat. So after a few rounds of ifing and butting I called it day. I ring the other half and leave a message as she's out, around 3-30 she rings me a says she' talks to the manger of the Accy Store and I have to call at 5pm and he'll try to help. I ring and he's busy with a customer, so I leave my number and he rings back within 5 minutes, I tell him the tale of my earlier encounter. I think we can sort this out for you, I'll just have the bed delivered her and we'll deliver it to your home and do whats necessary, result. It has just cost me an extra £25 but well worth it. :mosher:

I wouldn't have paid that £25 extra.
Why didn't you try Hyndburn Used Furniture store to take the old one?

What is the extra £25 for then:confused:
PS when I moved into this 1st floor flat the new cooker delivery man wouldn't carry it up the steps.
I got 2 men from Pilkingtons Saw mills and gave them a tenner
(I knew them and they had asked NOTHING)

Well actually it isn't extra Margaret, its a standard charge I would have paid it if the bed had been delivered straight from the warehouse, the only difference is that I pay cash to the deliverers and instead of just saying sign here and leaving me to sort it out, they'll take the old one out and put the new one in, which for me is ideal
