Indoor air pollution (and black mould spore problems)
I am a light smoker and have always used gadgets to clean indoor air.
I have 2 Amcor filtering machines and two Goodspheres - all are fan operated and make noise. I am not asthmatic but get vasomotor rhinitis from airborne pollutants, especially dust, cat dander, and chemical smells. Recently I have been having sneezing fits every morning, so I have dumped my feather pillows and duvet for 'allergy free' types. I was not looking forward to this winter when it won't be practical to have windows open for long spells. Autumn has its hazards too because of the mould spores from the heaps of rotting leaves near where I live. Fan operated machines are too noisy to use in the bedroom. So I did some websearching and found my ideal solution - Airfree air steriliser P60 Airfree : Allergy The cost is not cheap at £179 but there are no filters to buy, no fans to clean - no noise and no maintenance whatsover, and they use only 45watts. I have read numerous glowing reports about their effectiveness and the link above lists numerous laboratory tests showing them to be better than Hepa filter machines. For those of you who have black damp mould problems - it can be used in conjunction with aircon and dehumidifiers and it kills any mould spores in the air that you haven't managed to control by those conventional methods. I can't believe you actually smoke still, don't try and convince me filling your lungs with burnt particulates is healthy as I wont believe you.

Thanks for the link Margaret, I'm interested in the Airfree P60 which seems particularly good for asthmatics, may just give on a whirl
