Any tips on how to get rid of moles in the garden?

Hi there. My mother is currently experiencing moles on the rampage in her garden. Like me, she loves animals and all creatures and does not want to kill it/them - just wants to see them on their merry way and for them to go elsewhere. I heard an old wives remedy of mixing castor oil with soap and sprinkling it on the soil mounds mixed in warm water. This annoys them apparently. Does anyone have any other tips?...no comments about killing them please!!

Dig down thro the mound with a trowel to the mole run, then bury a two pound jar, the mole will fall into it and be unable to get out.

won't that suffocate it? And if we did catch the mole, what do we do with it then?? Sorry to sound really stupid. Thanks for your help.

If you don't want to kill it, put up with it...

Or move into a Terraced House with no garden.

There are sonic mole repellers (battery and solar powered) for about £15.
'Deafening them' ;) works with mice and spiders, and those Mosquito machines work on chavs, so - probably works with moles.

I have looked at Mole recipes, but none have mole as ingredients - strange that:confused:

The only real way to get rid of moles is to kill them, people used to make a living catching moles. Using repellants will only make them go elsewhere, it doesn't get rid of the problem, and they will be back.

There,s only one cure for moles, I have about half a dozen traps and usually catch a couple of dozen per year.
