Money Exchanges
Quick word of advice to anyone going on holiday abroad (something that seasoned travellers will know well!)
DON'T use the money exchange offices at any UK airport. As was said on Breakfast TV today, you might just as well give them your wallet and say "Take what you want". As an example, the pound was trading at 1.24 euros to the pound this week. High Street Bureaus de change were offering 1.20 (to include their commission) and.the office at Manchester Airport was offering 1.08. The difference on changing £500 is 60 euros. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask! |

Re: Money Exchanges
I found that the exchange rate on Brittany Ferries (on the boat) was always better than Currency Exchange shops - I think the idea was that you would then spend more in the "Duty Free" shop on board
