Dentists

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good, understanding dentist in Accrington area. Someone who is good for person with "dental phobia"?

David at the Oak House Dental practice is very good too....and it is an NHS dentist, but I think that you need to be referred by NHS direct....or perhaps ring Oak House and ask if they have vacancies for NHS patients.

I had not seen a dentist for 40 years due to my fear of dentists...but he has been absolutely spot on......I must have been attending now for 4 years.

I go to the same dental practice but have Jeremy and he's very good

I signed up when they opened probably 20+ years infact I think I'm patient number 2 on their books

Prior to going there I hadn't been to the dentist from being at school so probably 15 years plus but he's excellent

no worries about going to the dentist anymore

That's my dentist Margaret, I just rang them up and was accepted on their books, They also do a very good domiciliary service too

I can't praise them highly enough.....David Heeley was kind and patient with me and he didn't make me feel like I was being 'silly'....he understood that my fear went back to the school dentistry service, and how I had been treated by them as a child.

Yes John....being held down by a burly dental nurse, who could have doubled as a Russian shot putter...and me small for my age...wasn't a good experience.

I hate going with a passion however I've been every 6 months or so since being very young.

I used to see Mr Donnelley on Whalley Rd near the Hospital untill he retired and now go to Antley on Blackburn Rd. I would ideally want to find another good NHS one but it seems so difficult to get on with them or find one I think.

If you are already with a dentist then yes, it will be difficult for you to change...but if you have no dentist you need to register with NHS direct.....and if you need emergency treatment because you have no dentist, this is also the route to follow.
