Please let me know. Our beloved Eric ( adopted from Glasgow Guy 5 years ago!!) passed away last Thursday. We would like another Persian ideally as they are such great characters but having searched the usual avenues I am unable to afford pedigree prices. So please let me know if you see any advertised for a reasonable amount, age not an issue but would need to be a male one. :(

Have you asked at the cat rescue places? We got our Birman from one - her owner had been moving to a care home and wasn't allowed to take her.

It's a long shot, but it's worth a punt.

Me? I would have either gender. I loved my Persian cats.....they were real characters.

Needs to be a make ideally, don't think Mooncat ( resident 12 yr old grumpy female) would take too well to another female.

Lindsay, when you asked about Persian cats, I started a trawl of the cat rescue web sites......there was nothing suitable, but it made me really long for another cat.
There used to be a breeder in Rawtenstall...... A Mrs Annable......she would often have cats that she had bred from, for sale, a bit cheaper than normal.....but I'm not sure if she is still around.

The story has a happy ending! We have rehomed a retired Persian called Posh Pawz, she's been a breeding queen all her life and now deserves some peace and quiet in a loving environment. She'll never be Eric but she's certainly a character and is helping fill the gap.

I'm pretty sure that posh pawz has landed on her feet there with you...and no, of course she won't replace Eric.
She will make her own place in your hearts......and I am envious(in the nicest possible way).
I hope she has a long and happy retirement and gives you lots of joy.
