BT Broadband Basic Package - free upgrade
 

Anyone that currently has the basic BT broadband package with internet speed of 576kbps can now upgrade to 1MB speed for the same price.

All you have to do is give BT a call on 150 and go through to broadband information and ask to be upgraded. You can also get a free POP3 e-mail address. It will be using the same equipment and they will give you a day when the service will be upgraded (mine was a week - can't wait 'til next Friday now!) The server should go offline for a while on the day, but when it comes back on it will be super fast & you can catch up on anything you've missed in double the time!

Pipex are also automatically upgrading all Solo 500 512k users to the Solo 1000 1Mb package

You can also get the 2000 service for a one off connection fee of £15, your monthly payment will stay the same, only difference is you are capped at 5GB.
i have just gone on this service and the download speeds are really fast

For £27.99 a month you dont get capped, if I get near the 5Gb i will upgrade to that, its only about £4 extra a month.
I know some will say you can get it cheaper but do they get the same quality service as Pipex? I have used 4 isp's before Pipex and there not a patch on them, I wont move to save a couple of quid a month

Tiscali prices are not bad at the moment. Have heard various comments on the service quality though. Usually fine for the average user I think.

If and when Tiscali can finally give me a correct bill I will pay it.

And then heave a huge sigh of relief, while waiting on the phone to them to disconnect my service.

I have never, ever, received a correct bill from them.

There is talk of UK Online offering a basic ADSL package for £10 a month.

That will force the big boys to drop their prices as well.
