I agree

I agree I wish I could find that kind of money in a matter of few days I too have read the article in the telegraph. I find it very hard to believe that their information was wrong - get real Hyndburn Borough Council - stop pulling the wool over everyone's eyes and as far as saving money is concerned give me a job there and I'll show you how to save money!!!!!!

Does that mean the poll tax will only go up by the national average of 4% and not the 10% we were going to be ripped off with! must be one of the highest increases in the country!

mez 04-03-2004 07:14

dont hold any hopes for that . ksh/

jrenshaw 04-03-2004 07:40

poll tax? hmm you are being ripped off if you are paying the poll tax :-)

Couldn't find any reference to that in my edition of the Telegraph.

But what it does say in mine is:

"Last night Hyndburn's ruling Conservative councillors backed the surprise 3.9% rise for the Hyndburn element, rather than the 10% rise proposed by the cabinet last week

It means the overall rise in bills, including county services, will be less than the expected 5.8%"
