Re: Photo Number 9
It's on the area of Woodnook I know that (Well, near there)!
Just can't think of the name. Should do though, caught some builders dumping rubbish behind it a while back! ;D |
Re: Photo Number 9
;) The building looks familiar, it looks like it may be what is now Dr Karims surgery on brown st, but can't remember the name. Alternatively the one on the corner of Marsden st and Carter st and I can't remember what that one is called either :-/

Re: Photo Number 9

|
Re: Photo Number 9
Yes it used to be called (don't know if it still is) Woodnook Inn. I remember celebrating the Queens silver jubilee in there!

|
Re: Photo Number 9
Sure it is the Antley on Blackburn Road, in Church.
|
Re: Photo Number 9
Looks to me like a pub close to the old firm Platts.Forgot the name of the pub and the street its on but just off Ormerod Street ?
|
Re: Photo Number 9
Mik, you're thinking of the Richmond on Brown Street, but it's not that one. Can't make up my mind whether it's the Woodnook or the Antley.
|
Re: Photo Number 9
I don't think it's the Antley....the side road is to steep and that does not look like Blackburn Rd at the front...my guess is it's the Woodnook, probably to the same design as the Antley!
|
Re: Photo Number 9
I think its the woodnook too. The Old Band Club is just down the road.

Thats the one and thanks for the info.Me little mind is beginning to go for definate.Have all the pics in me head just the names seem to be dissappearing LOL! |
Re: Photo Number 9
Well, it's definatly not the Antley. If the Piccy was taken in Jan 2003 - and that's a pretty up to date car in the piccy - then the Antley is a muslim school & has been for a while, and on the assumption they're good muslims, It can't be a pub sign hanging outside.....

Re: Photo Number 9
Reminds me of the pub at the bottom of Burnely Rd, how it used to be (Boar's head??) before they put in the roundabout and changed all the road.
|
Re: Photo Number 9
Don't remember that one...must have been drunk at the time
|
Re: Photo Number 9
It is the Woodnook Inn.

That chippy was the first place I ever saw a microwave. I remember being amazed that a cold pie could be warmed up in less than a minute
