Picallilli
does anyone have an easy recipe for picallilli , dont want to make a gallon of the stuff maybe a just a couple of pints
not available im my area thanks |
Re: Picallilli
There should be quite a few recipes on the web. However, I suspect your main problem will lie in obtaining decent English mustard powder. If you can get it, well and good; but if not, don't rely on the weak American version...it just won't be worth the effort (unfortunatly, Cayenne or Chilli powder is not a good substitute)

Re: Picallilli
I can get Colemans dry mustard , the net recipes are for gallons of the stuff and involve using mason jars and steaming for hours , I was hoping someone knew an easy way using the microwave .
yep , I know, I'm a lazy sod |

Re: Picallilli
Mmmm, my mum used to make her own (Yep, gallons of the stuff). It was that tasty my mates at school used to buy my butties off me and I'd go the chippy! :D
As Tea said, make sure its proper colemans mustard powder, plenty of shallots and cauli. (we didn't put gerkins in but some people like it). I can almost smell how the house used to smell now! |
