Old Biscuit Tins ??

I keep some of my important papers in an old biscuit tin .. Peak Freans 'Star Assorted'. This probably only about 40 years old.

Anybody else still using something like this ?

My sewing box is an old Crawford's biscuit tin. It's at least 40 years old. Old photos (hundreds of them) are in the cardboard box my first vacuum cleaner came in, bought in 1963.

My mum and dad had a spike in the pantry under the stairs and pushed their bills on that ! what's the point ! chuck 'em .. only very rarely will you have the need to look back at them. Mind you, the computer has seen to that, hasn't it.

Surprises me how many of my colleagues still file certain papers that are on the computer.. like copy orders, why ? surfeit to requirements as far as I am concerned.

My Mum an Dad had the spike too! Was yours hooked over at the top Katex and hung from the hook?

I've got loads of things in tins, usually things like Cadbury's Roses tins, buttons which I will probably never use on anything, ribbons, lace.........

Well Buttermilk must have been feeling a little horse the day the biscuit tin photograph was taken, because she's definitely nuzzling Trigger.;):D

Wasn't Trigger Roy Roger's horse? (He being Dale Evans' other half.) So how many horses were there on this tin? :D

Reading this took me back to when i was a kid. We used to have a box up on the top of the kitchen cabinets and everything and anything was thrown in there - buttons, tape measure, paper, crayons, bits and pieces of everything. If we wanted a button or something like that mum used to say have a look in the box, so down would come the box and tipped on the floor and we'd spend a couple of hours looking through the stuff we'd tipped on the floor. Sometimes we'd find it sometimes we wouldnt. If we didnt then it was the sewing box or the drawer.
