Sundays were the best day, after church we would all meet at the top of Hodder St and play footy for an hour between the garages, then dash home for dinner, then after dinner we would all go over to the football field at the back of Broad Oak dye works off the top of Sandy Lane and play till we dropped. Then home for tea, roast beef and Yorkshire pud. That would have been around 1955/6/7.
