Re: My Goodness Am I Really That old?
I can remember Radio Caroline. me and my best friend would sit on her front step listening while the lads were playing KitCan or Footy in the street.

There was also "Radio North Sea International" which was around at that time as well as Caroline, but I don't think they were as popular.

Re: My Goodness Am I Really That old?
There was also Radio London which, for some reason, you could get up North at night. Used to listen in bed to it every evening during the summer of love, when some unknown called John Peel would play all manner of weird and wonderful records.

Re: My Goodness Am I Really That old?
I can remember Radio Caroline and Radio Luxembourg although RL was first. I can’t quite remember 2LO though. Then there was Radio London and several others all cocking a snook at the British government as they anchored off shore out of their reach.
Hey Less, you joined the mob a few months after I finished my doz. I guess you will have got better ships than I ever had. Ones that didn’t leak or break down in mid Atlantic/Med. |
Re: My Goodness Am I Really That old?
I remember having a little white radio which I took to bed with me. I shared a room with my Nana and had to keep quiet. Goodness knows where I got the radio from as our family wasn't at the top of the rich list but it did have this painful earpiece which enabled me to listen to Caroline or Luxembourg until I fell asleep. Happy days!!
