I wouldn't try to predict fashion, because without the chav's and the tartan crap, it has all been very much conservative since then.

I would never be a door whore at a nightclub again, whilst wearing a white, faux fur coat, flowers in my hair, a la Diana's bridesmaids, carrying a regal sized handbag, from which I'd occasionally take out a pork chop, to nibble on.

It was great in those days though Wynonie, you hadn't lived unless you had the Northern Soul experiance at Wigan Casino, which insidently is a car park now with just a plaque for rebemberance, went past there last summer and stoppe for a look and a flashack, and thats flashback not flash Rindi, Neil and cashy:D

Have just had a good look at the link above Wynonie, I like the look of he Wigan Casino Roadshow in Wales back end of June, if my health was a bit better I think I'd have had a try for that. The Gallery of oil paintings sure brought back happy memories, its good just to read about the old northern soulers and he fact that there is still so much interest in the music

When I was about 8 or 9 in the 1980s there was a craze for wearing neon socks. I had luminous green, orange and pink ones! :eek:

Late '70's and Hollins - Bottle Green 8 pockets with a 3" waistband,tight shirt and red Gibson shoes - OMG we were cool:rolleyes:.

Talking 'bout Wigan. Go and see a theatre production called "Once upon a time in Wigan" if you get chance. I saw it at the Lowry last year and it brought the memories flooding back.
PS Never actually made it to Wigan Casino, I had to make do with The Golden Palms (Blackburn Mecca) on Sunday Nights.

I cant beleive there are'nt a hell of a lot more people from the 60s generation, on accyweb, rememising about their youth, or maybe they are not nostalgic like a few of us, there were thousands of teens out and about in those days around Accy or east lancs anyway, Stax, Motown, Atlantic, were at there highest, we had never heared anything like it , it was magic, the girls smelt good, the feeling, fantastic, money in the pocket, there must be lots of stories to tell, it would be great to document a few befor we all bloody well kick the bucket, theres not that much time left.
