Think it was Joan Baez 'there but for fortune', a special order from Marys Music ,
As wynonie says , 32/6d ........don't think we had inflation in those days LPs were allways 32/6d and a gallon of 2stroke mix for my lambretta Li150 was 5/- note ...the record disappeared during a 50/50 divorce settlement with a pevish ex-wife :D can forgive but never forget :D |

relating to another thread about a football game in Manchester , what is it with the modern day Brit males , guys in their 20s/30s/40s overweight guys with beer guts and shaved heads, wearing football gear ? surely that belongs to 12/13/14 year olds , who have football idols and not a bunch of guys who have latent gay tendancies , maybe 'Glasgowguy' and 'comeonstanley' (now that sounds gay to me ) have an answer . :D :D |
Re: record
My first LP was Elvis Gold Records, bought from Mick Sturzaker, for 10 bob, at a tanner a week. My first 12'' centre vent suit, McKno's .

Re: record
The first album I bought was Plastic Letters by Blondie, purchased from a little record shop in Ambleside. It was Easter 1978, and we were up there water skiing for the weekend, and I really couldn't wait to get home so I could listen to it.
I thought it was great...and still do.:) |
