Well. I'll be going in one Saturday lunchtime, Kate, so it'll probably be as dead as a dodo, but it'll be nice to see if the old place has changed in 30 years!

As an interested observer. How many clubs are still alive in Hyndburn?

Off the top of my head there is the Tanpits, Willow Mount, Brooks (which was known as Union Street till it moved), Sydney Street, Stanley, Bold Street and Platts in Accrington. Clayton Con is still going and I think the Come and Welcome (Bottom Club). Rishton has the Con, Workmens and the Legion and Oswaltwisle has Straits, what used to be the Con (can't remember the new name) and Stanhill. There are probably one or two more but as I said just off the top of my head.

Na Wynonie the doorman stands outside now and drags people in:D

Yes ..long gone .. now building some houses there, although the old club is still a youth club .. will get a photo for you.

Just as an aside for you Eric .. noticed The Royal on Sparth Road has now closed and up for sale !

Bernie .. the middle club was the one on Moor Street in Clayton.

I'm presuming the Willow Mount was up Willow St..if so I used to go there in the 70's with my then girlfriend and her parents, playing bingo, watched some "turns" and a couple of pints of mixed.. not 18 and I reckon everyone knew... but any club would'nt get away with it these days...makes me wonder how we all get upset about underage drinking when it's used to be a long standing transition into adulthood.. times have changed and I feeling old!
