Harry Brunton
Didn't know where to post this, here or the music section, if need be the mods can move it. Back in the sixties most teenagers were into the new music craze Les Paul had come up with the electric guitar and the world and his wife wanted to go for fame and fortune by buying a guitar and joining a group, I was no exception. I bought a tuxedo guitar from Reedy's in Blackburn, then heard about this guitar teacher on the grape vine, Harry Brunton, who lived on Nuttall Street Accy, I went for lessons for about six months and then decided that I'd be better of listening to music as I was bloody useless a playing it. id anybody on here ever take the trip to Nuttall street or did you know the chap?

Re: Harry Brunton
In about 1966, we used to go to Harry for guitar lessons which often turned into a jam session. I recall my first visit to Harry with our groups bass guitarist - we both had Epiphone Casino's. Harry had a fantastic collection of guitars such as Guild and Gretch - all with fag ends stuck in the machine heads!!! I would have been about 12/13 back then. Harry had a fantastic influence, introducing me to those lovely jazz chords.
Does anyone know his history - i recall he may have been the guitarist in the Billy Cotton Band? |
