Re: Local Business Adverts 1950's Style
Oh my great goodnight........I remember nearly all of them.......only the last one which relates to the RLS do I have some difficulty with.
I feel positively ancient now! I'm off now to see if I can find the phyllosan(fortifies the over forties)...or maybe a glass of Sanatogen and a lie down, eh! |
Re: Local Business Adverts 1950's Style
Remember quite a few, apart from the last pic second set, was only the "Clock Garage" on that un, though Brazendales was Blackburn. used to live right across the road from Alan E Dents electrical shop.:)

What a lovely thread, Anzac, bringing back many memories.
Love the F. Lewis advert with the heading of 'Gay Holidays' ... obviously in the truer meaning of the word... :D |

Once had a right barny with Relay Vision, their main transmitter was somewhere near Rileys Hill, & at weekend the bloke in charge would switch off & go to the pub, got fed up, Haslingden has just installed a relay from Winter Hill & I bought an aerial and could get a decent signal. Rang Relay to remove their wiring from our house, they refuse & said I would still have to pay, so ripped all their cabling down, rang them again & told them it was now blocking the road, they arrive double quick & rerouted their cables.
