Vesta chow mein

Just seen Vesta chow mein in Tesco. Must be 40 years since I had one. Used to be a regular tea. Wonder if they still do beef curry ?

Re: Vesta chow mein

Did a quick search of Tesco online found the chow mein but not the beef, though the writeup does mention the beef at the end, so, think the answer must be yes they do still do the beef but Tesco don't have it in stock.

Product Description
Soft noodles with chopped and shaped beef, vegetables, crispy noodles and soy sauce.
If you should meet a creature with the body of a snake, the head of a crocodile and the claws of a lion, that's flapping leathery wings and breathing fire, you've found yourself a dragon. For centuries the Chinese have considered this mythical animal a symbol of power and fertility. Down through the ages they've used the dragon to decorate everything from clothing to cooking pots. Dragons were believed to live on a diet of human sacrifice. But that may be because easy to prepare, tasty meals - such as the exciting eating experience of our Chow Mein - were not readily available in ancient times. There's a point to ponder as you enjoy your Vesta meal.
Treat yourself to Vesta's Indian style Beef Curry.

Now I notice that this meal claims to feed one,

IF it's the same size as it was when I was a teenager, then I'm afraid it won't, the feeds one had less nourishment than a pot noodle and to relieve the hunger after a night on the beer we used to cook the serve two version which would just about fill you.

Though to be honest we had an excellent Chinese chippie on the route home that did a far larger portion for very little more plus we could get some prawn crackers to dip into the delicious compilation.

'Just eat' is NOT a modern concept it has been with us since before Roman times.

I hope that they still do Vesta Beef Curry with bits of fruit in, I used to love that. I can still remember an old friend of my dads going into one of the first Indian restaurants that opened in Accy saying to the waiter "Where's the fruit? I served five years in India and had loads of curry and it always had some fruit in it"
I didn't tell him that the waiter couldn't undstand a word of English.
