My cordless stuff!
I have a cordless mouse and keyboard which have decided not to work! I have replaced the batteries in both but still no joy.
The system is Logitech iTouch 1.83. I reckon that there may be a battery in the thingy which lives on the desk but I'm unable to find a way in! Am I on the right track or is it time to put the whole lot in the bin? Help would be appreciated. Cheers Junetta x |
Re: My cordless stuff!
Is it not one of those stupid ones where you have to click the buttons in a certain order for them to work, every time you turn on pc or dont do anything for a while on pc?Once had one of them, straight in the bin.Wires are best,at least they are reliable.

Re: My cordless stuff!
Thanks for the reply mate. It does have a button on the desk thingy but nothing on the mouse and keyboard as far as I can see. I've tried the problem page on the logitech site but no answers there. It's well difficult to try to sort out too, because I have to keep changing mice and keyboards to see if I've cracked the problem........grrrr.
Having a tower pc, I can't find a mouse with a long enough wire to reach to the right hand side of my desk. Poor me, problems problems........... |
Re: My cordless stuff!
Have a look round the keyboard and the mouse or the sender there might be a reset button on them somewhere

Re: My cordless stuff!
I guess they are radio based? Have you tried moving cordless phones etc out tey way as they use a very similar frequency.
I guess there is a test connection setting somewhere. Just remember you can use windows from the keyboard. USe CTRL-ESC to bring up teh start menu, cursor keys move the focus, <ENTER> selects. I can do 99% of stuff without a mouse connected. so bear with it. Ian |
Re: My cordless stuff!
I tried those cordless things a while ago and they were a right disaster. I've gone back to regular ones and things work much better again.

Re: My cordless stuff!
Thanks folks for your replies but I think at the end of the day I need to bin it! I've just been left with loads of problems........... Some of my favourite sites won't load, including AccyChat..........grrr. Back to the drawing board!

Re: My cordless stuff!
Your keyboard/mouse have NO impact on the ability to go to certain sites. Don't blame hardware for other issues or it will cost you good money to find out there wasn't an issue to start with.
You really need to sort out your PC. There could beany number of issues that are causing you problems. Ian |
Re: My cordless stuff!
Maybe, Ian, and I'm not as much blaming the hardware but the software that comes with it!! It seems well strange that all was ok before I decided to use the cordless stuff and load said software. All went to rats after that and I haven't even cured my neck ache x

Re: My cordless stuff!
The unit that plugs into the PC will not have a battery. Sometimes you have to press the button the the PC unit then press a button on the mouse and keyboard. They are often very small buttons that you press with the tip of a ball point pen. I have a logitech cordless mouse here and you press a little red button underneath it. Not sure if you press both buttons at once. The idea is that you tell both bits to talk to each other.
