anybody know anything about macs????
 

just got myself a webcam...but found that apple dont make it easy to install!! anybody know any free downloads to help me get my cam up and working?? any help would be greatly appreciated!

I always thought that Mac's were easy to add stuff to. I must have read too much Mac sales info

Use a mac at work for design work and it's relly strange going from a normal pc to a mac as everything seems to be the wrong way round!!!! Good luck gem ;)

Whilst they are a different 'mindset' those who use Macs find Pcs equally strange. Mac' s also run a version of Unix which is why you have all teh security stuff built in. Its also why you don't hear of Mac users being hit left right and centre with viruses, spyware etc.

As for adding the webcam I've not played with a Mac for a long time but I will try and help. Is teh hardware recognised? What software came with the webcam? What are you trying to use it with? Are you trying to use it in messenger or something?

Hi... just joined up with accyweb. Yes, I'm a Mac user... been using them for about 20 years. I can't understand why anyone would use anything different, and 'dozers have no excuse anymore... hint hint ;) All you PC users, stop being suckers and at least stick Linux on there...

So, tell me, what sort of webcam are you using? (Make/Model/Ref code etc) I can have a look to see if they have any support (drivers et al). Also what application are you trying to use it with?

It sounds to me like the problem you're having installing the webcam (if it's not Apple's iSight) isn't Apple's fault anyway... just the Manufacturers.

emailing me would be your best bet, if it's sortable I'll sort it ;)
