DIVX Player and HD

Hello - I have a divx DVD player at the moment but with some discs the picture is all mottled. I think it is because the discs I am trying to play have been encoded in HD (high definition). I have just seen this DVD player for sale on ebay I wondered if this would sort out the problem. Anybody aware of this?
