Text sizing

My dear Daddy has a problem, his text sizing on his AOHELL homepage is so small he can barely see it. We've tried a few of the obvious things ourselves but he has no view, text size tabs at the top of his page?

Anyone any ideas?

Change to Pipex for his broadband. No one should use AOL.

Change his home page to accyweb, maybe he can then keep you under control for the rest of us.:D

There are a few virtual magnifying glass available on the internet.

Re: Text sizing

I know that Neil, but trying to convince my dad is another thing. He's had no problems with them before this, he just needs to change the font size back but neither me or Accymel have a clue, we wouldn't touch AOHELL with a barge pole.

 LESS!! That should go down for one of accywebs awards for 'least constructive advice' ever given  :D Seriously, he does know about accyweb ;) I might slip the web address into his favourites though then he can see how much greif his little girl gets off Neil etc. :D

It's not drastic, he can view other pages in normal font size it is just his home page, I'll nip over next week and have a look, so if anyone does know what he's pressed please let me know then it will save his PC getting a right good kicking next week! ;)

Re: Text sizing

AOL IIRc is a reBranded Internet explorer. Whilst IE doesn't provide a 'zoom' function it does have text sizing. you can try the following set of keystrokes.

Press and hold ALT, press V, release both, press X then press L. it may work. other wise he needs to try and workout what keyboard shortcut is assigned to(Googling suggests there isn't one but that doesn't mean there isn't. There will also be a registry hack to reset it if you really struggle)

Re: Text sizing

OMG! That all that seriously scares the hell out of me entwisi! :o Is it going to be that complicated? I thought I was just going to have to find out what he's pressed and reset it back to it's original setting

I think he had yes Willow. When I last spoke to him he just said "I'm turning it off now", it was doing his head in. So I'm just getting some advice now for when I go over beginning of next week to have a look at it. Believe me I'll be trying all the simple things like that before I try any techie stuff that entwisi suggested. I just hope it is that simple! :o

Nope and I'm hoping it doesn't have to come to that either :o

I can't understand why it's only his home page though and not other internet pages that he's viewing.

I'm hoping I can sit down and have a one-to-one chat with it, tell it that its being naughty, hopefully it quickly comes round to my way of thinking and just resets itself ........... for it's own sake! :D

If he has a scroll wheel on his mouse, try holding down Ctrl and turning the scroll wheel which will increase or decrease the size of text according to which way you spin it :D

Strangly, Accyweb is not affected if you are on I.E. but it works on Firefox:confused: Most other sites work :D

Cheers Busman another one of the 1st things I'll check before trying any of that fan dangled techie stuff :D

Note To Mr Busman.

Please don't help Tink's out. We are hoping she will get fed up, leave AccyWeb and find a new forum to abuse.
