awwww nuts
 
ok i found a tool which will show up my valid windows home validation key

i wanted to get rid of the god awfull and basicly crap way that PC world set up their systems

my pc has quite a few extras added like my own preffered soundcard and a few extra hard drives and i have had no issuse at all

anyway i got my hands on a copy of xp home edition with the idea of instaling it with my valid product key

well the bloody thing says my key is invalid and i know it sure aint

any ideas ?

If its an OEM version of XP they can be 'locked' to a certain range of valid keys, what you need is a vanilla copy of XP Home.

Vanilla is a term used to mean not fscked about with by an aftermarket supplier. as in standard, no flavourings etc
