There was talk of them changing the license model with the new v7.5. I've not read the license agreement yet so can't comment.

can you not connect to web Via Laptop and just download its own version.

Do it from outside you house and you wont have 2 copies in the home.:D

Well Busman downloaded it first. I've still got an active McAfee but when I came to download AVG as well there was nothing to say only one copy per household.

Re: avg free edition

Did you read the new license agreement fully Willow?

Just been on their forums and I must say I can't see any issues with it being on more than one PC in a house as the mods have been answering Qs about it. I must admit it was a rumour I'd heard but as I haven't upgraded Julies copy yet I hadn't had chance to see for myself

Re: avg free edition

Is this a new licence which came out since I downloaded mine? If so, would it still apply in retrospect? I'm not in the habit of returning to sites to see if they have changed their TOS. I just assume that once I've agreed to a thing then the thing I've agreed to remains unchanged.

Re: avg free edition

One of the whole things with the upgarde from 7.1 to 7.5 was that it forced you to agree to a license agreement. It was (probably wrongly) assumed they were forcing this method of ugrade to sneek something into the license.

As usual 99% of people agree without reading it all :D

Re: avg free edition

I haven't upgraded since I downloaded so presumably it doesn't affect me then?

entwisi 28-12-2006 20:56

Re: avg free edition

when was that? If it wasn't in the last month you won't get any updates after Jan 17th. You should be getting a window telling you its going out of service.

Re: avg free edition

I've just had a look at the AVG site and come across:

Quote:

This license is provided personally to you and for that reason it does not allow you to make any duplicate (copy) to be sold, borrowed, assigned, leased or transferred in any manner whatsoever to another person. Any transfer executed in violation of this provision shall be deemed invalid and constitute a reason for termination of your license validity.
which could possibly be a bit ambiguous.

As each of us downloaded an individual copy we each have a licence agreement which is not shared with anyone else. We haven't duplicated anything or transferred anything to anyone else.
