Accy Web and virus warning pop-up
 

the Moderators can decide the best place for this .........
for about a week now , sometimes when I check into Accy web I get a pop-up from Norton telling me it/they have detected a virus trying to enter my computer ? only happens with Accy web , about 50% of the time ..........any ideas anyone ?, everything seems to be working OK , but thought I should pass it on , just in case ,

You'll have to wait until for either the mods or the computer geeks to log in steeljack. Dont ask me - havent got Norton was told not to buy it when i bought the computer so have had macaffee ever since.

yep my old PC had McAffee , but this one came with Norton so I stuck with it , seems everyone you speak to has a view either way :confused: both companies are still in business so they must be doing something right .
It was just the pop-ups i keep getting that I thought it best to mention , I have run scans and all seems ok , anyway will leave to the Pros to deal with ....lol.......early evening here , middle of the night in the UK ,

r u sure it isnt some spyware u've got on ur pc?

could be , but as I said in my original post it only happens when i click into Accy web

I have one that only comes on with this site, after looking into it, since reading this thread it is on the google tool bar, and can be disabled by clicking on a certain icon that comes with the pop up.

i was gonna say it cud b with spyware doing google keyword searches

and then it links it to its own ad pop up prog whcih tries to create an enterence to ur pc

Just got rid of it mani went through the small print, it was pretending to be a spam blocker for Outlook Express which I do not use anyway, but it kept putting adverts on, it was hidind in a file that I did not use, the computer used to belong to my sons 'partner' it was in her file. good riddance.

Can assure u that its not doing that on my pc & i have norton:confused:

i get No pop-ups on ere!
used to get them but found out it was spyware from downloading of a site!:o

also use McAfee siteAdvisor and this website has a tick (green) :D
