My Computer isn't well

Amongst various other aggravations at the moment with this infuriating lump of equipment, I have also had a mysterious happening which I'd never seen before.

The desktop screen looked like this:

I managed to close off and when I started up again it was back to normal so I forgot about it - but now it's done it again!

Has anybody else ever experienced anything like that?

Its not your graphics card thats going is it? Or something with the desktop settings?

Could be, GFx card loose or on way out, corrupt drivers, damaged cable to monitor

Now you mention 'cable' that makes me think 'cats'! One of them has a penchant for cable nibbling. He'll electrocute himself one of these days!
I shall have a study of cables when I get back home from going out.

check for a bent pin on the monitor plug!
