Simple useful software...nominations?

The most useful software I have installed on my computer is:

The Google Toolbar - search from your explorer window. And the latest version even includes a pop up blocker.

What other simple, effective programs does everyone use?

ACDSEE, Image management tool, if you use a digital camera or have a lot of images to manage or edit its a great bit of kit.

The most important software I ahve on my computer is

UltraEdit32.. like Notepad on Steroids..As a hand programmer I do all my work in that. I ahve written everything from Games written in C to Database design in MySQL ..Everything I do gets done in UltraEdit32

Yes bluesmaster I ahve always used ACDSee. Its great for batch editiing as well and it keeps the metadata intact which is important when messing with digital pictures... Even paint shp pro loses metadata when you edit.

Try "Onspeed" www.onspeed.com It speeds up your dial up connection to near broadband speeds. At £24 for 12 mths its way cheaper and it works with your usual isp. Only downside is it uses compression so graphics are not always clear but hey you can't have everything!
