Shockwave blocked by Norton

I ain't having a good day techy wise just tried to install adobe shockwave flash player on kids pc & blumming norton blocked the net access to download it ggrrrrrr:mad: I dont know why the stupid thing has done it but it has - never had that prob on other pc's tho other pc's hasn't had norton on it before either:(

Is there another way to download it as norton wont change its recommended block:mad: or another flash player to use instead ???

Re: Shockwave blocked by Norton

Norton. Say no more.

I presume its a firewall your on about.

Zone Alarm is better and free. as a quick fix if it is the firewall, disable that one and just use windows own. then if you want to, switch back.

If it Anti Virus Norton I cant see why it would block you?

Re: Shockwave blocked by Norton

agreed, remove the pile of doo dah and get decent one.

Or temporarily set teh windows one on and turn Norton off(in that order) Sort it then turn it back on(if you must)

accymel 22-03-2007 20:52

Re: Shockwave blocked by Norton

I guess removing Norton is about as straightforward as some people learning the art of patience

It will probably need a bit more force than my earlier suggestion.

I hoped you spanked yourself for stuffing up the PC as well.

A few years ago Norton had a program on their website for removing on of their progs, anti-virus I think because the uninstaller left too much behind.

Grrrrrr  im on kids pc trying to sort this problem out - with no luck!! Bt home page asked to download flash 6 - yep i download it seemingly even the dual firewalls passed it as backwalling it thro zonelabs & norton permits zonelabs so went thro - but when i went back onto home page it still came up with download flash player - yet download flash player says its already downloaded successfully

Still cant get shut of norton - it just refuses to remove by force  even ccleaner cant shift it!!
