Oulook Express

Boss tried to send a load of scans without reducing them and now they are stuck in the Outbox, they don't go and if I right click on the message and try to delete, the old egg timer appears and goes on & on & on,

The whole computer then slows down to a crawl

If I then control/alt/delete and get task manager it shows Outlook Express not responding - if I then shut down OE I can work normally, but I need to get at my emails

I have tried various things with, working offline, the line physically disconnected, in safe mode but no luck so far

I suppose I could delete the whole of OE and reinstall it but I'd lose all emails and addresses

Is there some folder that OE saves outgoing messages in that I can empty or delete

Any advice guys (and gals) gratefully accepted

Cheers

Re: Oulook Express

Outgoing messages [if sent] are in the sent folder :D

I had so many problems with outlook express - so ditched it & use webmail, gmail is the best one & holds a lot of mails, plus you can forward your other accounts to it, least if your comp knackers you can access mail where ever:D

I found this out on the web hope it helps:-

To clear messages stuck in outbox that wont shift by going in and deleting you have to delete the outbox itself and then reboot which because it is a systme file will replace the deleted outbox.
First go to Search/Find and making sure you also search for Hidden Files and Foilders type in *outbox.* in the Search "C" drive which will find the outbox.
Highlight and then right-click, then delete and then reboot and the file will clear.
