Re: virtual memory?
cashy, its worth doing, takes 2 minutes and will help with teh running of teh PC. Another thing worth doing is checking what things startup when you powr on the PC. Quite often there are a myriad of things that you don't need that are sucking memory and CPU making your PC run slower than it should.
If you want instructions on how to do it let me know and I'll type click by click instructions |

Re: virtual memory?
OK, here goes
Do "Start" "Run" type sysdm.cpl and press return This will open the "System Properties" window Click the "Advanced Tab " Then Click the Performance sections "settings" button This opens a new window. Click the "advanced" tab and the the "Change" button. Now this is where it depends on whats set. If it isn't already selected click on the "C drive" I'm pretty sure it will be set to "system managed" Click the "Custom Size" radio button In the Initial set 1024 and in Max set 1536. Click "Set" Click OK all the way out. It will tell you to restart the PC, do this and its job done. |

Re: virtual memory?
After having done a "Full destructive repair" as advised by my PC hot-line and having virtually nothing on disk I too have had the message pop-up several times. Will try the click-by-click and let you know how I get on. I have had problems with getting on-line so contacted my ISP to be told I had some "Tcpip" files missing and to contact my pc hot-line. This lead to the repair and then it turned out to be a fault with the server at my ISP.............was not happy when I found that out  :lamer:
