You could try one of these, IDE-USB adapter, there will be no need for messing with jumpers, or pulling another computer to bits. They plug into the hard drive, then to a USB port on your computer, they also have an external power adapter.
You can get them even cheaper on ebay. I would recommend everybody gets one of these. It makes backing up and transferring your stuff to a new computer dead easy. |

My pc is now fixed!
An absolutely massive thanks to Ian - Entwisi for coming out and sorting it out for me. My pictures are now safe and sound and to say I'm chuffed to bits is an understatement. Thanks again to Ian and thanks to everyone else who took the time to try and help me |
