Computer won't shut down

I'm having problem when closing down the computer, first it says logging off, then saving your settings, then closing down, that is still on screen a hour later.

Recently installed new software for a Sony Handycam, could that be the problem, checked registry can't find any problems.

Recently my firewall lit up said my port was being scanned, did a virus check, but not found any thing.

Simplest way of proving yes or no for the latest software, uninstall it, if all works after that, yes that software is your prob'.

Then install again, it might just have corrupted on install and could work the second time.

Did a system restore back to 2 days before I installed the camera software, then cleaned out all unescessary files, tidied up the registry, tried shut down and it worked, will see what happens over the next couple of days before I try the software again.

Tried that 4 times didn't make any difference. As for kicking my computer, sooner kick Flashy.
