Can't get computer to recognise new hardware
 

Hi

I've had to reinstall windows on my daughters laptop.

I've managed that ok, but although we have a wireless adaptor card in, and the computer found the new hardware, it won't install it.

I've checked the drivers and they are ok.

Since the computer can't install the wireless adaptor, daughter can't connect to the internet.

I just don't know what to do next.

Operating system is Windows XP pro, and the wireless adaptor is netgear wireless pc card, 54mbps

Anybody any ideas please?

Panic over. I have managed it.

Don't ask me how as I don't know, but I kept fiddling about and eventually the computer found it and it's now working and connecting to the internet.
