TinTin,

Which version of windows are you running?
Do you have a cd from the manufacturer of the pc that you use to restore settings after you have booted from the floppy?

If the floppy has got you a start up, try starting in safe mode(interupt the start up by pressing f2) when you get up go to search files, and look for mstools.exe, hopefully you will be able to find it and then open the file and find setup that should get you your file back up and running, restart your computer in normal mode and you should be ok.

Re: help with recovery disk

TinTin,

Have you tried creating a new boot floppy? If not that should solve it. There is an option in add/remove programs to create a recovery disk/boot disk. A win 98 boot disk installs cd drivers so you can then start up and insert your master cd.

Hope this helps!

Re: help with recovery disk

You may find CD1 is a bootable disk, set the boot order in the BIOS to boot from cd first. If you send me a PM i will talk you through it. Dont forget that restoring your system this way will wipe all your data/documents, so backup anything you want to keep.

Re: help with recovery disk

I've got the same prob but my PC won't bootup from CD and yes I've changed the boot order in my BIOS.

but... I've got an other solution.
You can create a brand new Boot Floppy from the first Master CD.

Open directory x:\DRIVERS\MCDBF there you will find MKMCDBF.BAT
Start this batch file and follow the instruction.
Now you end up with a bootable recovery floppy.
Reboot your system with this floppy, again follow the on screen intructions..
