Need help going wireless

Virgin came yesterday and sorted my modem out so i can go wireless. They also dropped off the router. Trouble is neither me or my son can sort it. We followed instructions step by step but still no good. Thought we had the PC sorted but when we tried to sort the PS3 PC went off, no matter what we tried couldn't even sort the PS3 out. Anyone who knows what they're doing fancy giving up there time to sort me out, it's so frustrating.
