Dell Latitude

Does anyone have a CD Drive for a Dell Latitude C610 that they are prepared to sell me. Alternatively, can anyone advise where I can get one. I shall be in Accrington for the first couple of weeks of May.

Re: Dell Latitude

you may as well buy a pioneer dvd/cd writer that also reads dvds and cds for around £20 from pc cellular on blackburn road next door to platts club

when you take your old one out keep the scews and take note how the attatchments to it fit on to the old drive as dell are swines for having their own special way of inserting parts .

or pay a lot more for teh same thing at pc world

latitudes are laptops mate so it would need to be a USB one.

i will ask at work as we get the laptops with them but our desktop people take them out to stop people using them. we may have some spare ones.

Why does it being a laptop make any difference? I replaced the DVD RW in my Dell Inspiron laptop with a NEC model...

You do need to make sure you get one with a fascia which matches the laptop...

because dell are notorious for using 'bespoke' connections and fittings meaning is a pain... i have a CYQP as a work shell and they are definately bespoke......

There ae probably a number of CD/DVD drives that would fit if the correct fascia was fittd to the drive - unfortunately I don't have the fascia, but thanks to all for comments and advice.
