Dell Ethernet Socket
Is the Dell RJ45 Ethernet socket a different size than standard size. It fits OK width and breadth but is too long to lock into place. I use an ethernet connection from the router to my LT, no problem. However, when i try to do the same with my son's LT, the Ethernet plug does not seat correctly in the Dell socket. Would really appreciate any advice or suggestions.

i have never had an issue as it is a standard socket across all manufacturers. maybe your cable is non standard??? my work dell and my personal one are exazctly the same as the 3 Acers we have in the house. |
Re: Dell Ethernet Socket
It sounds like your trying to plug it into a modem port rather than ethernet port.

Re: Dell Ethernet Socket
Ethernet port is RJ45 a worldwide standard.
Daft question - is there something stuck in the socket stopping it going in fully? |
Re: Dell Ethernet Socket
I have a dell & its fine.
Something else must be the problem. |
Re: Dell Ethernet Socket
I think that the socket is slightly out of line with the case checked with a depth guage both identical but the clip does not engage - am investigating further.
