Go to control panel, click on power & have a look at what your settings are, remember if you don't know what your doing, the most important button is cancel.
May be you should wear a mask, the computer might be fed up of looking at you.:hehetable:hehetable:hehetable

Shaz...I'm running Windows 7 so I am not sure if your machine will be the same....but you might want to try this.
Go into Control panel.
Choose power Options and go into this.
There should be something which allows you to change the 'sleep' pattern of your computer.
Hope this info is helpful to you.

Re: Sleep mode?

just to get back on topic for a second the computer should not go into sleep mode while it is been used regardless of settings.

if you leave the computer unattended then yes it will but if you are using it then it should not enter sleep mode

flashy 19-09-2011 17:47

Re: Sleep mode?

it does though, halway through me doing something, i've brought it downstairs so the little ones can play on it, but they can't because of the sleep mode thing

When you switch your pc on is the fan in the power supply spinning because if it isnt it will over heat then shut down but you wouldnt get any warning of this it would just shut off ?

flashy 26-09-2011 10:57

Re: Sleep mode?

the fan is working fine, i really havent a clue whats wrong with it, the pc was in Reece's room for a while but he never used it other than to bluetooth some pics onto it from his phone

accyman 27-09-2011 03:28

Re: Sleep mode?

something could be getting hot and cutting out.

ps:

when you alter the sleep settings in control options / power management are you clicking Apply before closing the options down or it wont save the alterations.Yeah i know you probably have but sometimes the simple things are easiest to overlook :)
