I can view videos but there is no sound

I go to control panel and go the to the sounds and audio divices and it says there are no audio devices

Does sound work for any other apps etc? If not
Go to control panel, system, device manager
Look under sound devices to see if its recognises your sound card

Have you had sound previously?
I know it might seem like a daft question, but I have to ask!
If you have had sound, then have you tried a System Restore...back to a time when you had sound?

Have you tried switching it off then back on again?
