Problem with e-mail?
 

I'm having crap wi me e-mail as wynonie can verify, Whats happening is i am getting me usual rubbish e-mails daily,yet a lass is trying to send me n e-mail using the correct addy yet it won't come, its definitely correct, cos me mate wynonie tried to send me one this afternoon, n i know hes got correct details, cos we send to each other fer yonks no problem, anyone explain what the score is, in terms a simpleton like me will grasp?

Cashy, send the lass an email and get her to put it in her contacts list....then send you the email again.....you only need to have a minor mistake for the mail not to go.
If I want someone to email me...I email them first.....so that they can use my email to reply to.
If that doesn't work get the lass to send it to wynonie, and he can forward it to you.

Nah wynonie couldn't send me one today to test it, n hes been sending me em fer years, yet all the sodding rubbish still coming through.:confused: not spam as such but crap from firms etc i have used come through no problem, i call those junk.

For the missing email, sometimes legit emails get flagged as junk and put in there, but if you`ve already checked and it`s empty then thats obviously not the case.

What do you use, is it a web based email like Hotmail, or something like Microsoft outlook.

Nah it was wanadoo, which became freeserve, which became orange which is now owned by EE, have never consciously changed e-mail n never ever had a problem like this.:confused:

Wanadoo is your provider, but how do you access your emails, is it through your internet browser or do you have a program installed to access them MS outlook or windows mail for example.
Just as a quick test, try sending an email to yourself.

I acess through a page orange in me bookmarks always have. will try that,sending meself one, have just used wifes n sent meself n its come, but the thing was i could only put a subject, not a message, there was no place to put one??:confused:

I don`t think there are that many things you can do with web based email, if you have internet access you shouldn`t really have any problems. If your mrs is using the same kind of email without issue, then maybe the problem is at the other end and the person sending the email has the problem.

Could be a glitch like you say, emails can be a pain in the backside sometimes, wasn`t meaning they`d got your email address wrong, just that it could be a glitch at their end, not yours.

Best advice is to get a new email with another service. Those free ones are usually crap anyways

Dont really want to ta restless, have had it fer oer 12 yrs wi no problems.plus mates all oer world contact me through it, i'm certain i would forget to notify someone of the change,:eek:if it continues acting the goat, then i will take on board.

Yeah i do understand the pains of a long used email... Easy solution(if your contacts are organised) to that is to click all and send a 'this is my new email ' email. I've never liked those ISP email services. I've used Google for years. Their web based email gets better all the time.

Did you do this Cashman, I still think problem could be at their side, ask them to check their outbox, mails could be in there still waiting to be sent.

Just to be clear, no email coming from you or her but still coming from other people.
Do you know the size of the attachment and what kind of file it is?
Emails with certain file types attached will get blocked.

Not sure, email problems not my strong point really, just asking a few things hoping to stumble on what`s causing the problem, any kind of PC problem is difficult to troubleshoot when you aren`t actually there to see what`s going on.
Perhaps if it`s a large attachment, possibly sent a couple of times, it may be causing a bottleneck somewhere, doesn`t explain why other emails are coming through though (I take it they still are).

Are you still getting the emails that you don`t want?
Do you have emails in your deleted folder? If so, try deleting some/all of them.

When you send the email, do you get a message saying it`s not been delivered.

How do you know it failed? Are you getting a failure email back? If so copy and post the email but edit out any email addresses

I delete em all god knows how many times daily.:eek: The lass sent the e-mail to me missus today n i forwarded it to me, so got it now.

I've seen something similar before, can't quite remember. Something attaches a .dat files to emails (which will definitely get blocked). Are you sending from an iPad or iPhone?

Is that just your inbox Cashman or deleted mail folder as well? Messages deleted from inbox go to deleted mail folder and still count towards your storage limit.
Also, just looking on here - Webmail - all you need to know about Orange webmail | Orange UK there is mention of a "block list" to prevent mail from certain people, worth checking they haven`t been added to that accidentally.

There's no mention of "dat" next to the code no. Failed messages have been sent from both an iPhone and an ordinary laptop.

it could be account hacking or malware, changing your password & security questions is advisable see Geekpolice Spamming from hotmail accounts.

I've had a problem with BT email last night. My login would not accept my password.and when I went on their website to change my password it would not accept my answer to my security question. I have had to contact BT chat this morning to rectify it.

BT have informed me there could be problems with BT Email up to 4 p.m. today as they are upgrading their website.

No Frank. I inwardly groaned when I read that you were with BT and having problems.
But I have been able to access my emails OK.
I know they are changing the website, because BT and Yahoo are having a parting of the ways. I now have a yahoo email addy.....as well as my BT one.
I am not planning on using it, but it is there if the need arises.
I hate it when they mess about wit something. It seems to me that they never make it easier.

M uses gmail and I use Yahoo. Quite often when she forwards me an email it arrives but any pictures attached to the email don't show - the email says there are attachments but no picture?????
