Re: iPad
The card reader is probably the best bet£25 from the Apple store.
If you buy one from anywhere else you may find that it doesn't work.....or it may drain your battery on the ipad so that you cannot download the pics. If you use a card reader you cannot uplad music or anything else to your Ipad.....only pictures. I have an adapter that allows me to connect my camera to the Ipad for the transfer of pictures.......I did consider the card reader, but felt that as I was only ever going to be uploading pictures the camera connector was right for me. I like my Ipad, but Apple have you by the short and curlies when it comes down to connectivity with other non Apple devices. |
Re: iPad
I agree Margaret regarding the adapter.
Apple may be expensive but their adapter works and that's what it's all about. No good going cheap and getting bad results. |
Re: iPad
Even worse if you spend 12 quid and find that it doesn't work at all.
My adapter has been worth every penny....I have used it lots of times. |
Re: iPad
Well, I've been playing with my iPad again and come across another conundrum. I have previously mentioned that I use Dropbox and Google Drive on my phone for Cloud storage, and it's easy to open these up to see what is saved. iCloud is another matter. Despite looking through the user manual, for the life of me I can't figure out how to open it up to see what has been saved/backed up.
Am I thick, or what? |
Re: iPad
Because intimate photos of celebrities have been posted online, and the suspicion is they have been hacked from iCloud, I don't think I will save my photos to iCloud. I don't want intimate pictures of me appearing in the papers.

Edit: oh dear. I guess its too late. That will teach those on the dark web a lesson haha |
Re: iPad
I know this is going to show my ignorance....but can you not sync the devices?
I know nothing of Dropbox or Google. I transfer my pics straight to my Ipad with the camera connector....but this is for camera's only. If you get a card reader adapter you will not be able to transfer music or any other files in this manner. You need to perhaps have a ride out to Manchester and go and see the young geeks in the apple shop. They were very helpful to me(and kind)...even though I am a Batty old bird.:D |
Re: iPad
Margaret do u have your photos synchronized to icloud?
Well. Simple solution is to install iTunes and add ur photos to the library and then sync them |
Re: iPad
no Rob...I don't use icloud at all.
I have no devices to sync to my Ipad. It was just that sometimes when I have taken pictures when out and about I can transfer them via the camera connector(yes it was £25 but it has been worth every penny to me) on my journey home on the bus....I can even do some editing while sat there. It makes the journey pass quickly and gives me pleasure. I do not have a smart phone. I will have a smart phone when they bring one out which will dust, hoover, peel spuds, wash, iron and put it all away.:D Now, that really will be a SMART phone. |

Re: iPad
Never mind all that, how can we stop The Sun publishing butt naked photos of me, which were hacked from iCloud?

Re: iPad
They want to sell copies not have them sat there on the shelves untouched
