A Dead Mouse

Some time back, I purchased a wireless keyboard and mouse. The keyboard was fine but the mouse refused to acknowledge any signals. I put it down to a fault (it was cheap) and went back to my old mouse.

I have just bought another keyboard and mouse and despite following all the instructions implicitly, the new mouse still does not respond:confused:

I have also tried an independant mouse but it seems that anything with more than two buttons is ignored by my PC. Any ideas people?

(I am running XP Pro)

Have you tried pressing the little 'connect' button on the underside of the mouse?

I know this sounds really basic, but have you put the batteries in (not taking the mick, someone might forget!)

Yes, done it all several times, I am sure the fault lies within the pc.

Two very stupid questions Busman………

A. Have you put a battery in the mouse?............ The right way?

B. Have you put the USB wireless receiver in the back of you PC?

Busman, I’ve just been playing with my mouse and I’ve found a little on/off slider button that I didn’t know was there. I’ve had the system for about four months and it’s the first time I’ve seen it. Maybe it’s worth looking at yours to see if you’ve got one.

I bought mine off the stall at bburn market.Everything was set up correctly. It was just cheap junk. You have to keep clicking buttons in right order for them to work and half the time it did'nt.Just cheap trash, stick to wires.

Busman, Is there a driver CD that needs to be installed? It may be that they emulate three buttons and it needs software to recognise it.

Does the same apply to a mouse with wire?

Might need updated drivers, most things sent out for sale are a couple of modifications behind, look on the website for updates for your model.

Great picture park381 :rofl38: lol!

I have the same problem I bought a wireless keyboard and mouse, they both worked fine the day I got them but after booting up the next day the mouse wouldn't respond and has never done since. The keyboard works fine, never had any problems with it but I have had to go back to a wired laser mouse.
