Re: Adobe Reader

Playing devils advocate

Why not try an alternative. Adbobe reader takes an AGE to start up each time, try one of teh other freeware tools such as

Cool PDF Reader - View PDF, Free PDF Viewer

You never know, it might actually suit you better.

I always find it strange how people tend to only consider brand leaders in software when there is in reality so much choice out there. Look at how hard it was for Firefox to get a hold on the market. Now its considered a brand leader people have no qualms about installing and using it yet only a few years ago you were a geek if you had Phoenix(as it used to be called, then Firebird and finally Firefox) on your PC.

Its the same with people moving to Linux. Wheres "Word" they ask, when they really should ask whats the best word processor?

Re: Adobe Reader

I just tried to send a cv I did on openoffice and the agency have sent me an email saying they can't open it!
Looks like I will have to fork out for MS after all.

Re: Adobe Reader

nope, you will have saved it by default in Open Office odt format. when saving it choose MS Word 97 format in the file type drop down list and you will be fine.

OPen office can read and write in many different formats to give you teh best compatibility it possibly can.
