Pulling my hair out!
I've been wanting a mobile phone with a camera for ages and a mate has passed over his old one. Having only ever had Nokias, I'm a bit thrown with Sharp. To make it worse, the idiot guide is in Spanish!
Thinking that I was good at technology I was sure it would be a doddle. Can anyone tell me how to switch the flaming thing on? |
Re: Pulling my hair out!
I've had my mobile for ages and today the battery decided to explode.
I couldn't find the instructions, so looked on the internet. The site I found had instructions and you could change the language they appeared in. Worth a try. Good luck.:) |
Re: Pulling my hair out!
Been there and done that Rindy. They all come up in some sort of binary which I can't decode. I'm losing the plot!!
Thanks for the thought mate xxx |

Re: Pulling my hair out!
It's a Sharp 703..........looking at some sites, it is all dancing, bluetooth, and probably makes a cup of tea!
I'm beginning to wonder if I'd understand the idiot guide in English!! Any help would be really welcome x |

http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/9771/703oq2.jpg Thats button 13 , The 'end call' button. Make sure the battery is in correctly, and that the sim card is in correctly, also make sure it's actually charging. |
Re: Pulling my hair out!
I know this may sound like a daft question but have you charged the battery? If you haven't it won't switch on no matter what buttons you press. Looks like a nice phone.

Re: Pulling my hair out!
I got there in the end. My daughter told me to hold down the red button.......number 13, thanks Madhatter as you had it right too! I was so excited but..........
After entering my pin number and the phone asking me 'how are you?', it came up with 'sim card error'. I now have to find a man who can unlock it. It will be worth it in the end though as it is a lovely phone and, hopefully, I'll have it sorted before the next photo comp. Makes me wonder though how some people get a gift and all works well and I'm always the one who has the problem!!! |
Re: Pulling my hair out!
whats a sim card ?
|
Re: Pulling my hair out!
LOL Junetta i had probs with my dongle for ages & i got it sorted eventually it was something really simple doh!
|
Re: Pulling my hair out!
SIM = Subscriber Identity Module; a smart card containing the telephone number of the subscriber, encoded network identification details, the PIN and many other user data such as the phone book. A user's SIM card can be moved from phone to phone s it contains all the key information required to activate the phone.
Also called a chip by some. |
Re: Pulling my hair out!
Some sim cards are locked to one phone junetta. Some phones are locked to one sim card.
Take it to an asian on a market :D I don't know what I'd have done without the one in nuneaton. They're great. |
Re: Pulling my hair out!
I had to give up on it as I really didn't like the phone. It looks good and does lots but it wasn't for me. I've passed it on to 'im indoors for him to work out.
Movistar had a good deal on a Sony Ericsson on contract, so I treated myself to it. I'm well happy, camera, bluetooth, what more could a girl want. |
Re: Pulling my hair out!
I'm racist cos I said take it to an asian on the market according to the karma I got, which is what I expected when I posted it. In actual fact they are the racist, all I'm saying is the asian seem to be very good with phones.
Proves how mental deficient people really are. Well ok I am being racist, I'm saying the asians are better than the whites in this country with mobile phones. |
