Virus!!!
The other day i came on accyweb and found a spammer had been on site ,
so i deleted the porn links and banned the member involved or so i thought i ran a avg scan this morning and found i had a virus. and what did this virus do ? it attached itself to my e-mail address book and has sent sex messages out to members in my address book i think it was a script that makes e-mails up and adds names so if anyone did get a so called e-mail off me then i apologize as a lot you you are in my address book . i have now sorted the virus out and now have a clean system once again. PLEASE remember i did not send these e-mails.:mad: |

:D just deleting links couldn't have infected you unless you 'visited' said sites. What virus was it? It could be(in fact I'd be erring on this side of things) that you got it elsewhere and have only linked it to this post. |

would accy webbers have got the virus if we had clicked the link?? i never do cuz the names sound stupid and they write a load of shi.....rubbish!! |

Lord knows what nefarious activities Mick had been indulging in last Wednesday, in Amsterdam. When I bumped into yourself & Mick on the ferry back from Rotterdam, he looked worn out. :rolleyes: Perhaps you could fill us in with the sordid details... in the Over 18's section, of course. :D |

These posts aren't actually made by 'people' but by 'bots'. I have some forums too but they run on a different system. We have the same problem and I have gradually got used to stopping them. entwisi is also correct. Moderating the forums will not enable you to get the virus, but visiting the links would have. Be careful whenever someone new posts links. If you think it is a spam bot, check the email address they registered with. That usually gives it away. |

I've just realised that ever since I reported a porn spam post my anti-virus has stopped auto updating and I've got the divil of a job trying to get it to update manually now. http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/i...milies/mad.gif

What Anti-Virus you using? You checked to see what the virus was and see if there is a fix?
