Pcmcia Connector

has anyone got a spare one? ive had a laptop for 4 years and hardly used it, its an ancient one but my D-link (PCMCIA ethernet card media coupler) has just broke (might have something to do with me forcing it in:D) i know i should get a wireless connection but a new D-link would do me just fine ;)

Re: D-link

D Link is a make not a device, I guess you are talking about a PCMCIA ethernet card adaptor or is it teh cable that goes into it?.

I might have an old on in teh garage, I'd have to check. teh problem is that the connector is different on a lot of cards even in the same 'make'

Re: D-link

rubbish picture, I can't see if its BNC or RJ45 or anything. sort your picture out and I might think about digging in my stock of crap to help.

PS, if its that ancient its BNC then it probably won't support wifi anyway

anyone wanna wallpaper mi bathroom ?? what a mess

Re: D-link

Homebase in Accy were selling some wallpaper designed to put straight over the top of woodchip and cover it up. I know its not the best way of doing it but it would save you the mess and hassle of stripping it off. It only needs painting a couple of days afterwards and your done.

Re: D-link

oh i dont mind the landing having woodchip on it, thats easily paintable, its the bathroom thats naffed

Right then hopefully the fast ethernet card I offered you, should do the job, unless the lap top is clockwork and out of the ark!:)

I have, you have got to admit been veeeeeeeeery patient for me so far, but a piccy of the lap-top means nothing, if you are lucky it will have the correct connections, if it won't even take the card I am talking about, then PLEASE throw it in your re-cycling bin, it isn't even going to be of use in a museum.

flashy 14-04-2007 15:17

Re: Pcmcia Connector

yes you have been very patient les, thankyou for that, as ive said it has one of those cards already so i'm sure the one you have will fit it :D by the way the laptops not made outta wood
