Interactives yes, Films no!

Feeling unwell today so had the day off and decided to watch a film when I finally got up. Stuck a disc in the dvd player allowed me to access the games etc on there but when I replaced it with the film disc, the machine could not access the film. "Incorrect disc" it tells me. Now all it wants to play are interactive discs eg trivial pursuit. Does anyone have any ideas? I tried the old disconnect from mains for a minute but still no joy:confused:
