I would put it down to a poor installation unless the weather is really bad.
As mentioned on here before you should get your dish alignment checked as a first step.

Where do you live?

Weather sometimes plays havoc with sat signals, usually starts to craze and then a no signel being receved comes up, but today its just fine

Re: sky tv

We have had the No Satellite signal being recieved thing for over a week, since last weeks gales. Having checked up and finding that it's usually common when the dish has moved, we knew that Sky would try charging £65 to fix it. So we got a freeview box and rang Sky to cancel. They suggested that because I am such a loyal customer it would be better to get the dish fixed free of charge first before cancelling. Engineer is booked for Monday. Tried it today and it's working fine despite the weather outside. Wonder where they keep the magic button in the Sky call centre. Conspiracy theory anyone ? :)

Re: sky tv

it usually is the dish, there may be a wire loose on it, probably due to the bad weather or it may have some water in it;)....or the dish may have moved position slightly:D
