so, you have updated yours and his has stopped working?
Can I just check, the internet connection isn't run by your PC and shared to him via a wireless access point? i.e. when you say wireless router you mean a proper wif router that does all teh internet connection and wireless networking itself? Did you try an IP address in his browser?(Neils IP isn't google BTW :D ) |

The interesting thing about google is that the ip can be different depending on where you ping it from. They have a big lump of ip's so it depends which google server your DNS server gives you the ip of when you try to connect. Googlemail gives you the same varying results

I don't know what the IP I posted above is - probably a typing mistake :o
If you are feeling bored today click start, run and type cmd then enter At the command prompt type ipconfig /displaydns look down the list for google.co.uk and see what ip addresses your PC has used for google as shown below http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/a...er-google1.jpg |

The router and wireless is connected to my computer so I access the internet direct, the laptop is wireless and worked fine until I renewed the AV.
I haven't tried anything yet, just waiting for him to get back of his hols tomorrow and will give it a go cheers |
